2028 cohorts

Summer 2028

Florence · 4 weeks

Founding cohort, up to 4 students. Applications reviewed individually, housing in our own student residence included.

From 2029

Florence, with Milan as a second site

Wider intake as partnerships grow. Priority to partner-university applicants.

Housing & meals

As on all Unicollege programs, international students live in university-managed housing or in accommodation formally affiliated with the university - never left to find a room on a marketplace.

Florence · pilot

Our own campus residence - included

The Florence campus has an integrated university residence for up to 55 students: single, double, triple and quadruple rooms, studios with garden access and shared apartments. Every unit is fully furnished, with air conditioning, personal refrigerator and Wi-Fi; shared kitchen, dining and laundry areas. Meals: Unicafè, the campus bar and food buffet on the ground floor, the residence kitchens, and an 8,000 m² olive garden with tables for outdoor lunches. Your founding-cohort place includes housing here.

Milan · Turin · from 2029

Partner residences, arranged by the program

Where we do not have our own residence, we use the formula that works across international programs in Italy: Unicollege reserves rooms for the whole cohort in a selected student residence or partner hotel, at program rates, with a meal-voucher network at partner restaurants. One address for the group, a local contact person, everything arranged by the program and confirmed in writing in your offer.

Honest answers

Will I earn university credit?
Medical Italian and The Italian Healthcare System are part of our accredited curriculum and carry university credit on a Unicollege transcript. The Anatomy & Pharmacology survey is a graded certificate course with full syllabus and contact hours: whether it transfers as credit is your home institution's decision, and we give you every document that review needs.
What exactly will I do in hospitals?
Guided small-group experiences totalling 8-12 hours per month, in the settings the hosting hospital's medical direction authorises: simulation centres, teaching facilities, structured observation, and ward observation where the hospital agrees to it. The exact shape for your cohort is written in your offer. We do not promise ward access a hospital has not signed.
Who is my mentor?
A named Italian physician who meets you one-to-one every week, in English, for the whole program - and can write you a personal letter of recommendation at the end. Name and role are confirmed in your written offer, before you pay.
What does it cost?
Founding-cohort places are deliberately affordable and all-inclusive except flights and meals: one price, confirmed in writing before any payment. The full fee and a fixed payment schedule are stated in the program brief.
What if I need to cancel?
The cancellation policy is part of your written offer, with clear dates: a full refund window, a partial one, and a final deadline - tied to the same payment schedule you sign. No surprises buried in terms and conditions.
Where do I live?
In Florence, in our own campus residence - up to 55 students, furnished rooms with air conditioning and Wi-Fi, shared kitchens and laundry - included in the program fee. In cities without a university residence (Milan, Turin, from 2029), housing is arranged by the program in selected partner residences at dedicated rates, with a meal-voucher network at partner restaurants - confirmed in writing in your offer.
Do I need a visa?
U.S. citizens visiting Italy for up to 90 days generally do not need a visa. We confirm the current entry requirements for your specific case during application - before you book anything.
Is this program insured?
Yes: accident, third-party liability and international health cover are arranged by the university and included. The details are stated in your written offer.
